Began wheeling Super Modifieds in 1979 for Steakley Chevrolet in the DFW Metro, after being a full-time wrench for Johnny Suggs, racing primarily at the Devils Bowl. He Built his own SprintCar in 1982 and ran all over the region focusing on Devils Bowl for point chases, where he finished 2nd in the championship 3 years in a row '85-'87 in wingless competiton. He was always a gasser, but a most-respected mechanic. He continued his driving career until 1996 when he was retired by a nasty wreck at the Bowl. He finally won his only championship in 2004, as a car owner/wrench for Jimmy Goodwin at the Devils Bowl. Together we won 15 races that season, with 8 in a row at one point. Greg passed away in 2006, the same way he lived, hard on the loud pedal, and a little upside down.
