Ricky Weiss races into Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway
Making the long-haul on Wednesday afternoon, Ricky Weiss checked into Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the 30th-annual Dirt Late Model Dream.
After Mother Nature wiped out Wednesday's FloRacing Night in America event, Weiss sat on the sidelines for Thursday as he was placed in Friday's preliminary night.
On Friday, Weiss moved into a transfer position in his heat race and earned a spot in the $25,000-to-win feature. Rolling off 13th, Ricky charged inside the Top-10 to finish sixth after 50 laps.
Slated to start on the front-row of a heat race on Saturday, Ricky slipped back to fourth which relegated him to a last chance showdown. Securing a transfer position, Weiss started 24th in the $100,030-to-win main event and gained six positions to finish 18th.
Tagging on an extra race on Monday afternoon, Weiss was one of 18 XR Super Series Late Models at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway. After starting 14th, Ricky was an early retiree and recorded a DNF.
