Runner-up in Challenge Cup XVII at Dakota State Fair Speedway
Kicking off his weekend early, Tad Pospisil joined a 36-car field at Dakota State Fair Speedway (Huron, S.D.) on Thursday for the first night with the Tri-State Late Model Series.
Making up one spot in his heat race, Pospisil started eighth in the brief 25-lap main event and finished fifth. After the apparent race-winner was DQ'd, Tad moved up to the fourth spot.
Rolling to Brown County Speedway (Aberdeen, S.D.) on Friday, Tad recorded a heat race victory before Mother Nature wiped out the remainder of the evening.
Returning to the Dakota State Fair on Saturday afternoon, Pospisil earned a second-row starting spot in the $5,000-to-win feature after a strong showing in heat race passing points. Running third for most of the 25-lap main event, Tad made a last-lap pass to score a runner-up finish. He trailed Chad Becker while Scott Ward completed the podium.
