Spencer Diercks races to 10th-place finish at 300 Raceway

Spencer Diercks defended his home turf on Thursday evening as the DIRTcar Summer Nationals invaded Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) to compete on the quarter-mile oval. With a stacked field of 35 cars entered, Diercks followed up the fastest time in his group with a third-place finish in his heat. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Spencer showed speed early in the 40-lapper but ran into overheating issues in the later stages that saw him pull off to save equipment for the remainder of the weekend. Battling with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) on Friday afternoon at 300 Raceway (Farley, Iowa), Spencer timed in second fastest overall in qualifying but failed to complete a lap in his heat race. Starting the $5,000-to-win A-Main in 22nd, Diercks marched forward 12 spots in the 40-lapper to finish 10th.
