Spencer Diercks
Fifth-place finish in Modified at Dubuque
Forced to make other plans again after Mother Nature wiped out his weekend, Spencer Diercks trekked to Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.) on Thursday evening for the second annual Dairyland Showdown. (Jacy Norgaard photo)
With 38 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series entries amassed, Diercks dropped three spots in his heat, relegating him into the B-Main. Needing to place third or better to make the $10,000-to-win preliminary feature, Spencer recorded a seventh-place finish.
On Friday, Spencer’s eighth-place finish relegated him into the B-Main. Locking the top-three into the show, Diercks logged a 12th-place outing.
The following night, Diercks packed up and headed to West Liberty Raceway (West Liberty, Iowa) to compete in the Modified ranks. With a sixth-place finish in his heat race placing him on the seventh row for the feature, Spencer jumped up two spots to finish 11th.
To wrap up the weekend, Spencer stopped at Dubuque Speedway (Dubuque, Iowa) on Sunday. Earning the seventh-starting position for the A-Main via the redraw, Diercks passed two cars to finish fifth. He trailed Jaden Fryer, Mike McKinney, Jed Freiburger, and Matt Gansen to the checkers.
