Growing up I always had a passion for going fast no matter what I was doing. At a young age I took to speed skating where I found a place to go as fast as I wanted anytime I wanted. Competing for over 10 years I realized my lifelong goal of competing on the World Championship level in 2004. Getting the opportunity to compete in another country in front of thousands of fans was something I longed dreamed of. I left Italy that summer with a Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal to my credit and what we didn’t realize at the time was an overall JR Mens track championship (though I was never awarded it).
In the fall of 2006 I decided that I had finally had enough and was ready to hang up my skates. After the most time I’ve spent off skates since I started way back by age 7-8 I received a phone call from a company that I long desired to compete for. After a lot of thought I decided that this was an opportunity that I could not pass on. By the middle to end of February I was working my way back into shape to try and compete at a professional level. Just 4 days after signing the contract that I dreamed about since I began in the sport something happened that would change my life forever.
I had a car accident that nearly took my life but I was lucky enough to live through it. However, in the accident I did break 9 ribs, my right wrist, left collarbone, and my back leaving me a T9 paraplegic. After a long road to recovery in various hospitals and rehab centers I was able to return home September of 2007
In the fall of 2010 I was given the opportunity try a 600 micro sprint with hand controls to see if it was something I would be interested in. I immediately was hooked and we got our own 600 to begin racing in 2011.
