Clay Money
Penokee, KS
Driver Information
The number 7 has always been a big part of Clay Money's racing career. It all started at the young age of 7 when it was time to storm the Mid West and the rest of the United States competing in many Go-Kart National Events and Series. After 7 years of Kart racing, the old saying goes, "With age comes a cage."
In 2012, Clay started his rookie season in an IMCA Northern SportMod. After getting his feet wet that first season, the team took what they learned and came out on fire for 2013! Colby, Kansas was quick to find out the "Money Man" was going to be a threat, and he was, with claiming the Track Championship at the Thomas Co Speedway.
The next 2 seasons saw the team become a major threat anytime they hit the track. Between 2014 and 2015, Clay finished 20th in IMCA National points in 2014 and 7th in 2015. The 2015 Kansas State Title was not an easy one for Clay. It came right down to the final night and a season long battle with runner up Daniel Gottschalk, this on track battle turned into a great friendship off the track. 2015 also saw Track Championships at RPM Speedway in Hays and Sherman Co Speedway in Goodland, Kansas.
2016 saw a big change at the Penokee, Kansas shop, it was time to make the move to the popular IMCA Modified. It was a trip to St Louis for the VP Race Fuels Gateway Dirt Nationals Presented by Karl Chevrolet that ended out his rookie season. Clay has competed in this event it's first year, also 2017 and 2018. Like in his Go-Kart days, Clay and team headed on the road during the always grueling Iowa IMCA race season. With great runs on the road in 2017, he was also competing for the Track Championship at his home track the RPM Speedway in Hays, Kansas. Even after all that travel, he was able to finish a very close runner-up in the points chase and also qualified for one of IMCA's biggest races, the fan voted Fast Shafts All Star Invitational during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey's at the Boone Speedway. After 30 laps, Clay finished a strong 6th place out of 30 of the Nation's best IMCA Modified drivers. 2018 also saw a trip to the Heart O' Texas Speedway for a run at the $10,000.00 to Win Dirt Dominator.
2019 looks to be another action packed season for Team "Seven". Make sure and follow our schedule and we hope to be at a race track near you!
