Driver Information
Like many other racer's I live for racing! Got my start racing BMX for around 6 years until I learned how much I loved engines and stepped into a dirt circle track go-kart in 2008 and raced jr.2 class up through adult open class until having my beautiful daughter Ashlyn Layne Kernick in 2010 when I stepped out of the drivers seat for one season to focus on being a young new dad. In 2011 I decided I had taken a break from racing long enough and me and my childhood friend and racing influence Cody Blessing put together an IMCA sport compact where I raced it for one season at Mid Nebraska Speedway in doniphan ne. I then purchased his past hobby stock chassis to race in 2012 and went on to race hobby stocks for another 6 years moving onto multiple great opportunities to drive for Big Daddy Chassis of Norfolk ne. For a number of years as well as Chubby Chassis out of Great Bend KS. Until deciding to finally make the jump up into the IMCA Stock car division in 2018 piloting my medieval chassis stock car until my rookie season was cut short due to a tragic yet extremely lucky side by side utility vehicle accident where I flipped end-over-end approximately 8 times causing me to fracture my neck and skull with lacerations to my head and face as well but luckily was able to walk away and recover relatively quickly without any real life changing or threatening paralyzation etc. Except a couple damaged disk's in my lower back but nothing that has or will hold me back from doing what I love! After recovering I returned to the race track as soon as I was cleared to race in 2019 with multiple career milestones and a points finish inside the top 5 at my home track of Dawson county raceway against a stacked field of seasoned drivers including national champion Mike Nichols where I am currently competing at, Along with Saturday night's at Junction Motor Speedway located in McCool junction,NE for my 7th season in a stock car & 17th season racing circle track in total.
TRAVIS KERNICK RACING is constantly striving to grow as a driver on & off the track as I acquire more experience and seat time in the class, finding more speed every week! None of which would even be possible without the continued support from all of my friends, family, sponsors, but most importantly, my wife Shelby & Daughter Ashlyn!

Most Memorable Moment
Most importantly becoming a dad! But after that I would say every heat race and A feature win over the years!
