Sixth-place outing in Dairyland Showdown Prelim Feature
Making the long haul to Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.), Ashton Winger entered his Mathews Motorsports No. 12 Late Model into World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series competition for the Dairyland Showdown tripleheader weekend.
Following the ninth-fastest lap in his qualifying group, Winger started the 25-lap preliminary feature from the fifth-row and picked off three competitors to finish just outside the Top-5 in sixth.
With the remainder of the Dairyland Showdown weekend rained out, Ashton Winger and his team blasted South to Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Ark.) to compete with the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series in Saturday's Bay Boy 98 event.
With 31 Late Models on site, Winger ripped off the quickest lap in time trials and went on to pick up the win in his heat. After leading the first six laps, Ashton slowed in turn 3 and retired early from the event due to mechanical issues.
