Wrisco Winternationals bring Cosner to East Bay Raceway Park

On Monday evening, Matt Cosner was one of 70 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Fla.) to kick off six nights of racing. After missing a transfer spot in his heat race and B-Main, Cosner secured his spot into the opening night feature with an eight-lap victory in the DirtonDirt.com Strawberry Dash. After Mother Nature axed Tuesday’s portion of the Wrisco Winternationals, Matt recorded a ninth-place finish in his heat race on Wednesday. Slated to start near the tail of his B-Main, Cosner was a scratch from the 10-lapper.

For another $7,000-to-win A-Main on Thursday, Cosner recorded a seventh-place finish in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 2 into the show, Matt passed three cars but fell short of a transfer position.

The following night, Matt’s sixth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main. Starting in fifth, Cosner dropped three spots in the 10-lap affair to finish eighth.

For the Wrisco Winternationals finale on Saturday, Cosner came in 10th in his heat, giving him one final shot at the $15,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place second or better, Matt logged an 11th-place outing.
