Topless 100 feature start for Stevens
Arkansas native Tyler Stevens raced in a crown-jewel event in his home state on Friday and Saturday as he participated in the 32nd annual Nutrien Ag Solutions Topless 100 at Batesville Motor Speedway.
When the program kicked off on Friday, 54 Super Late Models were at the 3/8-mile track in Locust Grove, Arkansas, for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned portion of the two-day show. During the prelim night, Stevens finished second in his heat race and started his Pitts Fuel Investments No. 2 car 10th in the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win feature. He finished in the same position, earning a berth in Saturday’s 100-lap finale.
However, Saturday was not without drama for Stevens as he and his team were forced to change an engine before the $50,000-to-win main event.
With the new power plant in place, Stevens began the race from the 10th spot. He ultimately came home 22nd.
