Timms visits Eldora Speedway for mega weekend
Ryan Timms traveled to the legendary Eldora Speedway this past week, where a doubleheader with the Kubota High Limit Racing Series set the stage for a massive weekend at the Ohio oval.
The action began with Wednesday’s Double Down Duels leading into Thursday’s Joker's Jackpot. Timms’ week got off to a rough start when he flipped during his hot lap session. After qualifying 31st in his group, which buried him in his heat race lineup, his night ended early with an 11th-place finish in the B-Feature.
On Thursday, Timms’ chances in the $100,000-to-win Joker’s Jackpot ended in the C-Feature, where he posted a sixth-place finish in his consolation race.
Regrouping for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series weekend on Friday and Saturday, Timms earned a spot in The Knight Before feature through his heat race but saw his night cut short when an engine failure ended his run while running fifth with five laps remaining.
On Saturday, Timms raced into the $250,000-to-win Kings Royal finale by claiming the final transfer spot in his heat race. He closed the weekend on a high note, advancing five positions to finish 15th while also earning second place in Eldora Speedway Rookie of the Year honors.
