Fourth-place finish in 360 Nationals at Knoxville Raceway
Ryan Timms and the Liebig Motorsports team tackled the Sprint Car Capital of the World over the weekend, taking on the 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank at Knoxville Raceway.
Fast from the outset, Timms opened Friday’s program with a third-place finish in his heat before charging from fourth to second in the 20-lap preliminary feature, joining winner Rico Abreu and third-place finisher Parker Price-Miller on the podium.
The strong preliminary effort locked Timms into the third row for Saturday’s $34,000-to-win 360 Knoxville Nationals finale, where he advanced one position over the course of the 30 laps to record a fourth-place finish.
Switching focus to the 410 Sprint Cars on Sunday for the Avanti Windows & Doors Capitani Classic, which drew 75 entries to the famed half-mile, Timms continued his consistency with a heat race victory and a 10th-place finish in the feature.
Extending his weekend to Monday’s annual Front Row Challenge at Southern Iowa Speedway, Timms overcame a tough heat race to put together an impressive drive in the $21,000-to-win main event — rallying from 16th to fifth to earn KSE Hard Charger honors.
