Countdown to the Lowes Foods World of Outlaws World Finals Presented By Bimbo Bakeries and Tom’s Snacks: 3 Days
Concord, NC—November 1, 2010— The Fourth Annual Lowes Foods World of Outlaws World Finals Presented By Bimbo Bakeries and Tom’s Snacks at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina is quickly approaching, November 4-6 for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, along with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds. In the 15 days leading up to the three-day action packed season ender, World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series drivers will share their thoughts on what has become one of the “Must See” marquee events of the year.
Next up is Donny Schatz, the four-time and defending World of Outlaws champion, who has competed in all three World Finals. He won finale of the event in 2008 and has finished sixth or better in all six of the main events contested during the season ending extravaganza. The North Dakota native is one of just two drivers that have competed in all 24 World of Outlaws events at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, racking up four wins in that time along with 20 Top-10 and 16 Top-Five finishes. He was victorious earlier this season at Charlotte and has finished eighth or better in each of his last 12 starts at the track dating back to 2003. He has won five times this season and is currently second in points, 96 markers behind Jason Meyers.
Donny Schatz, Driver of the No. 15 Armor All/STP J&J:
“It’s fun to have a race at the end of the year where you can go and have a good time. You always kind of look forward to the end of the year, but I wish it would keep going. We’ve been running fairly well here recently. I’d like to see more races. It’s kind of sad to see it end, but all good things must end. It will be unique with all the cars this year. Hopefully the weather is good and it’s warm out and we can keep everyone happy. That place is fast. You have to put yourself in a good position qualifying. We’ve been pretty good there in the past and hopefully will be again this time around.”
