Sides Motorsports Adds Rico Abreu as Co-Owner as 2021 World of Outlaws Season Nears

Inside Line Promotions – BARTLETT, Tenn. (Jan. 25, 2021) – Jason Sides is fresh entering the 2021 season, which begins next week in Florida.
Sides’ sprint car has a new, all-white paint scheme without any flames etched along the sides – a first for as long as he can remember. And his team – Sides Motorsports – welcomes Rico Abreu as co-owner moving forward.
“Rico and I came together for a partnership that will be beneficial to the both of us,” Sides said. “I’m glad to have him on board and helping us chase the World of Outlaws tour for a couple more years.”
Sides plans on running the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series full time in 2021. He noted that most of the aspects within the team will remain the same, but some of the burdens and pressure of running a team as an owner as well as being the primary driver will be helped by the partnership with Abreu.
Sides plans to kick off the season at the 50th annual DIRTcar Nationals, which runs Feb. 3-7 at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla. The first two nights are sanctioned by the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions before the World of Outlaws season starts the ensuing three nights.
“We always look forward to heading to Florida for the DIRTcar Nationals,” Sides said. “It’s a big, fast track where I’ve had some success. Qualifying is always crucial everywhere you race and that track is no different. Hopefully we can start each night off with a great lap and put ourselves in contention.”
Sides earned a victory at the track in 2011 and he has produced at least one top 10 during the DIRTcar Nationals in 12 of the last 14 years.
