Ricky Lewis and Colt Treharn Gain POWRi Weekend Wins at Vado Speedway Park

Belleville, IL. (11/19/23) Finalizing the yearly returns of open-wheel action in the POWRi New Mexico Motor Racing Association, running in conjunction with the Sunset Grill POWRi Non-Wing Sprints, Vado Speedway Park would host the annual Zia Sprint Car Challenge featuring a duo of events to round out the 2023 adrenaline rushes as Ricky Lewis would capture the series feature win for the first time in his career on Friday with Colt Treharn winning for the fifth career time on Saturday.

Starting the on-track adrenaline rushes at Vado Speedway Park for the POWRi NMMRA/Sunset Grill Non-Wings on Friday would witness Dylan Harris and Michael Fanelli each earning the heat race wins.

Flying from starting in the fifth position on the grid, traveling wheelman Ricky Lewis would shoot to the lead in a flurry and hold the lead position for seven laps to gain his first seasonal series victory as pole-starting Colt Treharn finished runner-up after leading thirteen laps with Michael Fanelli gaining the final podium placement from starting fourth.

Continual frontrunner Shon Deskins would finish fourth from starting third with eighth-starting Logan Calderwood rounding out the top-five finishers for the POWRi New Mexico Motor Racing Association, running in conjunction with the Sunset Grill POWRi Non-Wing Sprints, at Vado Speedway Park on Friday Nights Kia Sprint Car Challenge.

Continuing the on-track adrenaline rushes at Vado Speedway Park for the POWRi NMMRA/Sunset Grill Non-Wings on Saturday would witness Shon Deskins and Don Grable each earning the heat race wins.

Sailing from starting in the second position on the grid, Colt Treharn would shoot to the lead early and hold the top position for the final twenty-two revolutions to gain his second seasonal victory as seventh-starting Don Grable finished runner-up with prior victor Ricky Lewis gaining the final podium placement from starting fifth.

Recovering from a previous race rollover, perennial frontrunner Caleb Stelzig would finish fourth from starting ninth with fourth-starting Logan Calderwood rounding out the top-five finishers for the POWRi New Mexico Motor Racing Association, running in conjunction with the Sunset Grill POWRi Non-Wing Sprints, at Vado Speedway Park on Saturday Nights Kia Sprint Car Challenge and conclusion to the 2023 season.
