Cottage Grove, Oregon- On Saturday September 6th the 2014 season will come to a close for the Northwest Wingless Tour at the Cottage Grove Speedway. But it will end with a bang as the series will be in action for their biggest race of the campaign as the Wingless Nationals presented by Herz Precision Parts will no doubt produce some great racing. Teams from Oregon, Washington, and California are expected to be in attendance for this race. The main event will pay $2,000.00 to win and $200.00 to start.

There have been a total of four Wingless Nationals at CGS and all four have been won by Kyle Miller. Miller will look to keep his perfect record intact despite not scoring a Non-Wing victory so far in 2014. The Northwest Wingless Tour has had five winners in six races. Colin Baker is the only multi-feature winner this year, with two, while Jesse Thistle, Sean Johnson, Guy Weedman, and Mike Romig have one apiece.

In two visits to Cottage Grove in 2014 Colin Baker and Jesse Thistle were the winners. In the point table Brad Rhodes has a sixty-two point lead over Mike Romig headed into the final leg of the season. If Rhodes stays atop the chart he will become the sixth different champion in as many seasons with the series.

Nineteen total NWWT sanctioned races have occurred at CGS since the series was formed in 2009. Kyle Miller has a firm grip of the win list with twelve triumphs including six times in 2013. Kyler Barraza is the only other multi-race winner with two while Roger Crockett, Dale Smith, Kyle Mehner, Colin Baker, and Jesse Thistle have won once.

Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:45. Tickets are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a Family Pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
