Inside Line Promotions – NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (May 22, 2018) – Ryan Bowers was finally able to strap into the Kouba Racing No. 5 for a doubleheader with the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series last weekend.

“We started out at Princeton Speedway in Princeton, Minn., which is kind of where I started racing dirt track stuff about 10 years ago,” Bowers said. “One of our newest partners, King Solutions, had a lot of people come out to the track so that was pretty cool.”

Bowers started third in his heat race, but moved up to the outside front row after the pole sitter scratched from the race.

“We took off running second then got around the leader and came home with a heat race win,” Bowers said. “We then started and finished fourth in the dash and I drew the pole for the feature. Sadly, a rain shower popped up and the feature got rained out.”

The series credited drivers based on the dash finish, giving Bowers a fourth-place result.

The team traveled to Cedar Lake Speedway on Saturday. Bowers started sixth in his heat race and originally finished fourth until the car in front of him got sent back a spot, giving Bowers the third-place finish.

“We were in the top eight and participated in the Wing of the Hill qualifier,” Bowers said. “We won the first round and lost the second round, which started us seventh in the feature.”

The track rubbered up by Lap 3, leaving Bowers no options other than to roll around and log a seventh-place finish.

“Overall, it was a good weekend and we’re happy with how the car is running,” he said. “This coming weekend is going to be busy, but we’re looking forward to it.”

Bowers is scheduled to compete this Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints and Midwest Sprint Touring Series before Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series races on Saturday at Rice Lake Speedway in Rice Lake, Wis., and Sunday at Eagle Valley Speedway in Jim Falls, Wis.
