Bowers Dominates at Ogilvie Raceway to Earn First Win of the Season

Inside Line Promotions – OGILVIE, Minn. (June 12, 2018) – Ryan Bowers and the Kouba Racing team claimed their first feature victory of the season last Saturday at Ogilvie Raceway with the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series.
“Ogilvie is basically like a home track for us,” Bowers said. “We know a lot of people there and we had a lot of friends and family in attendance on Saturday night. It was awesome to get the win in front of them.”
Back-to-back heat races was the format on Friday night. Bowers drew a seven for the first heat race and made his way up to fourth. The cars were slowed down, inverted and the next heat race was immediately run. He started first and finished third.
“We were just a bit off in the heat races,” he said. “The way they do the heat races so quick like that makes it hard because you can’t make any changes. We were fighting some rear end issues after the heat races so the team pulled down the spare and we swapped everything over real fast.”
Bowers was the third car out in the Wing of the Hill event. He was able to beat the rest of the cars to secure the pole for the feature.
“The car was really good in the Wing of the Hill,” he said. “We didn’t really make any changes for the feature. We took off and lapped up to fourth place. It was a solid performance in front of our friends and family, and we’re excited to get our first win of the year.”
Bowers will take this weekend off before returning to action on June 22 at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., with the DeKalb/Asgrow presents the Midwest Power Series by GRP Motorsports.
