"Sponsor Spotlight: Parkes Family Produce"
With summer, and fresh produce season upon us, we are going to introduce you to Parkes Family Produce for our June Sponsor Spotlight!
Parkes Family Produce is truly a family farm run by John, Harold, TJ and Jeff Parkes with the help of family and friends.
The Parkes farm has been in the family for over 100 years, and in 2011, they began selling fresh produce and meats to local customers. All of their products are raised “in-house” so to say on the farm. Everything is all-natural and they are state licensed and inspected, so you can buy with confidence, knowing that your food will be fresh, healthy, and delicious!
They truly have everything you could ask for in farm-fresh produce, including but not limited to asparagus, beets, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, cucumbers, green beans, lettuce, onions, potatoes, a wide variety of peppers, pumpkins, radishes, sweet corn and sweet potatoes, as well as many specialty items depending upon weather conditions and season. All of their produce is picked daily and raised without herbicides or pesticides. Everything is pre-washed and ready to enjoy!
They also specialize in farm-fresh chicken and duck eggs, as well as choice steaks, whole hog sausage, bacon, premium ground pork, premium ground beef and poultry. Chickens are available year-round, as are all meats and eggs, with a select number of turkeys available near Thanksgiving.
Honey is also an important part of the Parkes farm, with patriarch Harold being known as the “bee master of Sangamon County”. Their honey is 100% pure with just one ingredient, honey. After harvesting, the honey is strained but not heated, preserving the rich flavors that you won't find in any supermarket honey. Fresh honey is available for sale as supply allows from late spring to early fall. Quantities are limited and sell fast.
You will not be disappointed with your experience at Parkes Family Produce! They have been a tremendous supporter of Tiffany Wyzard Motorsports both on-track and off!
