“Wyzard Continues To Gain Momentum With MOWA”
The Tiffany Wyzard Motorsports team was back in action as the “Midwest Open Wheel Association Presented By Casey’s General Stores” roared into Quincy Raceways for their Midseason Championship night! 23 cars signed in to do battle on the high-banked quarter-mile, sharing the evening with 5 additional classes.
Tiffany drew a 41 pill, leaving her to start last in the first and toughest heat race of the evening. Continuing her strong performances in heat races, Tiffany quickly raced into the 5th position, before engaging in a fierce battle with Korey Weyant for the majority of the race. Tiffany bested Weyant, crossing the line in 5th behind veteran hot shoe Jim Moughan.
Tiffany barely missed the Fast Dash, based on passing points. She would start the 25-lap A-Feature from the 10th position. Things were quickly brought to a halt with the red flag coming out while pushing cars off for the event, as the #47AU of Trevor Reynolds flipped off the top of Turn 2. With help from a group of volunteer crewmembers from other teams helping, Reynolds was able to make the call and tag the tail of the feature.
As the green flag flew, Tiffany made a bold move through the middle of the pack, coming out of Turn 2 of the opening lap in the 5th position. However, as the cars worked through Turn 4, Levi Curry spun on the high side, nearly collecting several other cars. On the ensuing restart, the drivers starting in front of her were wise to Tiffany’s plan and she had to settle into line. Tiffany decided to work the bottom and had a fast race car, but couldn’t make up any ground. At the halfway point, sensing she was not making progress, she decided to pull off and save her equipment for another day, as the race track continued to slick off.
Next up for Tiffany is night #3 of MOWA’s “Illinois Sprint Week” at the Jacksonville Speedway on Friday, July 25th!
