When the final checkers fell it was Terry Phillips sitting in Andy's Frozen Custard Victory Lane. Phillips wrestled the lead away from Jesse Stovall in turns three and four at the halfway point and set the pace for the race's duration.

The win for Phillips is his 112th in series history and first Late Model win of the year. His Black Diamond Chassis is brought to life by an Andy Durham Chevrolet Engine. His primary partners include; Andy's Frozen Custard, Don Babb Motorsports, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Keyser Manufacturing, Integra Shocks, Midwest Sheet Metal, New Vision Graphics and Bass Livestock.

Chasing Phillips to the line was Chad Simpson. It was the second straight runner up for Simpson who has shown good speed early in the season, driving his new Brinkman Motorsports Black Diamond.

With three laps to go, Brent Larson was able to move from fifth to third and grab the final podium position.Randy Timms had another good night, finishing fourth. Brantlee Gotschall was the Casey's General Stores Hard Charger, powering forward to fifth.

Tony Jackson set the overall LucasOilRacing.tv Fast Time early in the evening, with a quick lap at 17.188 seconds. He broke a power steering pump, causing the fuel pump to fail as well, on lap 13. It forced him to retire early from the race.

Sunoco Rookie of the Year Points leader, Rodney Sanders, also had his share of struggles throughout the night. After going to a backup car he sustained damage in the feature and was scored 17th.

Jesse Stovall and Chad Simpson won the evening's qualifying heats. Stovall faded late to a 6th place finish, but took over the points lead. He will be running the Midwest Sheet Metal fluorescent yellow spoiler at the next stop. It is the first time he has been at the top of the standings thus far in 2017.

Next on the schedule is the 4th Annual Freedom Classic at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma on Friday, June 30th and Saturday, July 1st. The Friday race will pay $3,000 to win and Saturday's top finisher will pocket $5,000. It is the only time the Lucas Oil MLRA will race in Oklahoma all year.
