Young Talents Emerge in Rookie Battle

BATAVIA, OH (June 12th, 2018) - The battle for the Lucas Oil Products Rookie of the Year - Presented by Hot Rod Processing is heating up.

Kyle Bronson of Brandon, Florida is looking to capitalize on his success in recent years, as he tackles the grueling demands of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The 27-year-old pilots the No. 40B Sweet-Bloomquist Race Car - powered by a Durham Racing Engine. He is sponsored by: Brandon Ford, Brandon Collision, RACECAR Engineering, Dirtwrap, Hoosier Racing Tires, and VP Racing Fuels.

Bronson brings over 15 years of experience and 190 career wins to his quest for the Rookie of the Year title. Bronson currently has one victory on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, in 2018 - claiming the biggest win of his career on Saturday, February 10th at East Bay Raceway Park. In addition, Bronson has registered four top-five finishes, eight top-ten performances, six heat race wins, and two fast times.

On his decision to compete on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour, Bronson commented: “We are competing against the toughest competition in the country each week. To be the best, you have to race with the best. It’s been an up and down season so far, but I am looking forward to finishing the year strong.”

Mason Zeigler, the 25-year-old from Chalk Hill, Pennsylvania, joins the list of talents on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Zeigler is chasing the Lucas Oil Products Rookie of the Year - Presented by Hot Rod Processing in his family-owned No. 25Z Rocket Chassis - powered by a Pro Power Racing Engine. He receives sponsorship from: JLE Industries, Ohiopyle Vacation Rentals, MS Shock Therapy, FK Rod Ends, VP Racing Fuels, and Midwest Sheet Metal.

When asked why he decided to contend for the Rookie of the Year title in 2018, Zeigler exclaimed, “The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showcases the top drivers in the country. When we win, we want to be able to say we outran the best in the business.”

To start the 2018 season, Zeigler has earned a pair of top-five finishes, eight top-ten finishes, and four heat race victories. “I feel like we are close to a big win, we just need to shake this bad luck,” Zeigler added. “We try not to focus too much on the points battle, we just want to win races. If we are able to claim the Rookie of the Year title as well, we’ll consider that a bonus!”

In 2018, the Lucas Oil Products Rookie of the Year - Presented by Hot Rod Processing will earn $10,000 in cash and several other prizes at the year-end awards banquet. Throughout the season, Hot Rod Processing will award $100 cash to the Rookie of the Race, at each points-earning event.
