Lewis Cruises to Win in Beaver Dam

Beaver Dam, WI (July 21st, 2024) - A $400 night was earned by Jackson Lewis after he picked up the win this Saturday at Beaver Dam Raceway with the Midwest Legends Dirt Series Presented by Legends.Direct. Lewis picked up yet another feature win in what has been a strong season for the driver has been out of Lakeville, Minnesota.

A total of 29 cars made the trip to the 1/3rd mile clay oval for another run at the top spot. Championship leader Jackson Lewis headlined the field with his championship rival Jordan Miklas only 24 points behind heading into the night. A few new drivers to the series made the trip to BDR as well. Abbygale Blasel, Bill Sleep, and Tristian Swanson all joined in the action for a great night of racing.

Heat races were led by Jackson Lewis, Tristian Swanson, Dallas Ross, Michael Weber, and Cal Swenson. Lewis ran away with the first heat after starting from the pole. Tristan Swanson in his series debut went from sixth to first in his heat, with the asphalt standout showing he can do it on the dirt as well. Ross didn’t have it easy with all of the drivers in the heat race a threat for a win for all of the laps. Weber started fourth in heat four and was able to battle with his Legends Direct teammate Colton Utley. Cal Swenson picked up his first heat win of the season in the final heat of the night.

An eight car B-Main pulled onto the track next. Nate Werner and Alex Haese led the field to green. The field set itself out and Adam Zellmer picked up the win in the end with Alex Haese, Nate Werner, and Matt Gritt making it into the A-Main as well.

Charlie Spoonmore hit the redraw right on the nose and lined up alongside Dallas Ross in second to start the feature. Drama kicked off before the green dropped as Tim Franz’s drain plug became loose, dropping fluids all over the track. The safety crew cleaned up the fluid which left a smokescreen type of dust in the air. The green was dropped and Spoonmore got the jump in front of Ryan Mech who started behind him. The highline was moving, with Jackson Lewis and Michael Weber boogieing up there into the lead and second place by lap two. Spoonmore fell back to third with Mech and Ross right behind him. Brady Ascherien got involved in the battle, with the green #7A rolling on the topside. Jordan Miklas began his run towards the front, with the driver in second place in the championship looking to close in on the front pack and gain as many points as possible. Lewis broke into lap traffic and had a gap of over three seconds to the next car before the yellow flew for a spin in turn two. A five-lap shootout ensued, and Lewis led the field to the green. Weber followed behind as Miklas behind them fought his way past his Watertown, Wisconsin ally, Spoonmore, for third place. Weber stayed close, within a half-a-second, but just couldn’t get the pace to catch the leader. Jackson Lewis drove off into the night to pick up his third feature win of the season and a $400 payday along with it. Weber brought home second with Miklas third. Spoonmore finished fourth, saying
“I’m really happy with fourth after that. This 1250 can keep up with some of those bigger guys.” after the race. Ross brought home a strong fifth place, helping him keep a good spot in the championship.

Jackson Lewis took home 25% off a full suit fit thanks to Rush RaceGear and a Buy-1-Get-1 Wheel Rim courtesy of Aero Race Wheel. Adam Zellmer got $100 off any Rush RaceGear purchase and $25 from SunSet Auto for being that hard charger. Connor Carey's finishing position was drawn to win a Sentry Receiver Device from HMS Motorsports.

The Midwest Legends Dirt Series Presented by Legends.Direct will be back in action this coming Wednesday, July 24th, in a big $1,000-to-win fair night race which doubles as a National Qualifier night. The series will then haul back to Angell Park Speedway on Sunday July 28th for the final trip to the track.
