Bay Cities Racing Association Lightning Sprints
MATT LAND PICKS UP HIS FIRST LIGHTNING SPRINT WIN IN ANTIOCH!
Antioch, Ca.....Matt Land from Wilton, Ca picked up the win Saturday night 10/8/2022 from the pole position and led every lap. 10 cars signed in Saturday night to the always fast Antioch Speedway, Matt Land was the quickest qualifier, followed by Hunter Kinney & Greg Dennett. Heat race wins went respectively to Scott Kinney winning the first heat and Harlee Aguilera winning the second heat. Both heat races were sponsored by Motowear by donating $50ea for the heat race wins. The main event was set for a lightning pace with Matt Land and Hunter Kinney on the front row, when the green flew Matt said see ya later and never looked back. While Hunter held the second position for the race the battle was on behind him for 3rd to 8th place. On a tricky Antioch Speedway if you missed your line and slipped up you might of lost your position. Harlee Aguilera didn't waste no time getting into the top 5, with his teammate Brandon Leedy in 3rd Harlee was hot on his tail. Greg Dennett was holding down the 5th spot until a late race charge by Dakota Albright and Nick Chivello slipped by with a handful of laps to go. Albright and Chivello didn't stop there as Albright raced into the 4th spot and Chivello to the 5th spot rounding out the top 5 as the checkers flew. Nick was rewarded with the extreme mufflers hard charger award after starting in the 8th position. Harlee Aguilra wound up 6th, Greg Dennett was 7th, Scott Kinney was 8th and received the CSI shocks certificate, Josef Ferilito was 9th and Jim Riddell was 10th. The next race for the lightning sprints is 10/29/22 for the Spooktacular at Marysville Raceway.
