13th Annual Modified Nationals Night #1 Recap

OGILVIE, MN (05/26/18) - Ninety WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds checked into to the Ogilvie Raceway for the 13th Annual Minnesota Modified Nationals and Justin Froemming came out on top in passing points, winning features in the other classes were Jody Bellefeuille in the WISSOTA Modifieds, Dustin Holtquist in the WISSOTA Mod Fours, and Nate Servaty took the WISSOTA Hornet feature.

Two rounds of nine heat race were ran for the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds to determine the top 16 spots in tomorrow nights $10,000 to win feature and Justin Froemming earned the pole racking up the most passing points in the two rounds of heat races.
Adam Prieve grabbed the early lead in the WISSOTA Mod Four feature with Tyler Larson challenging him for several laps, seventh place starter Dustin Holtquist made it a three race battle until just past halfway when he was able to get by both Prieve and Tyler Larson and drive away for the win, Prieve took second followed by Robert Holtquist, Tyler Larson, and Dean Larson rounding out the top five.
Corey Mehrwerth had control of the WISSOTA Hornet feature early on but on a restart Nate Servaty was able to get by and went on to dominate the rest of the feature and picked up his first career win, Mehrwerth took second followed by Brittany Smith, Jake Smith, and Justin Schelitzche.
The WISSOTA Modifieds had trouble getting going but once they did J.T. Johnson grabbed the early lead with Jody Bellefeuille in a close second, Johnson and Bellefeuille would race side by side for several laps before Bellefeuille took the spot. Jeremy Nelson was on the move as he ran down Johnson and took over second on lap 10 as the laps continued to click away Bellefeuille stretched out his lead while Nelson ran second and Johnson third, Shane Sabraski and Dan Ebert would then battle for the fourth spot, Sabraski would eventually take over that spot. Bellefeuille would go on to pick up the $2500 check he was followed by Nelson, Johnson, Sabraski, and Ebert.
