Inside Line Promotions – ORRVILLE, Ohio (May 31, 2016) – Caleb Helms garnered his first top 10 of the season last Saturday at Wayne County Speedway during an Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions event.

“It’s nice to get the first top 10 out of the way,” he said. “We’ve struggled more than we thought we would this year, but we’ve steadily made progress. It’s nice to get a decent result to show it.”

Helms opened the night by qualifying sixth quickest overall. He then finished second in a heat race to advance into the dash, where an eighth-place result lined Helms up on the outside of the fourth row for the main event.

“We had a great battle with a couple of guys between about seventh through 10th,” he said. “The track was one lane around the top for the most part. To make a move you’d have to slide them.”

The 10th-place result keeps Helms ranked eighth in the All Star championship standings.

Last weekend began on Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, where Helms timed in 23rd quickest during qualifying. He placed third in a heat race to miss making the dash by only one spot. That started him on the inside of the sixth row for the main event.

“We were a little off on the setup so we didn’t move forward like we had planned,” he said. “It was a dirty track. Every time the crumbs started moving you had to move around or stay on the bottom to not get passed. I’m not very good about just staying on the bottom. We did our best to hang on, but we ended up 17th.”

Helms will return to action this Saturday at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, and Sunday at Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pa., with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.
