Andrews Nets Hard Charger Award at Attica to Maintain Points Lead

Inside Line Promotions – ATTICA, Ohio (July 31, 2019) – Winning championships involves turning what could be a bad night into a decent night. That’s exactly what Chris Andrews and the Mackey Motorsports team did at Attica Raceway Park last Friday.

After qualifying third fastest overall, Andrews was poised to have a very good night, starting third in his heat race.

“We were running third and the car was really good and we cut a tire,” he said. “That put us in the B Main and we moved forward from sixth to second to make the show.”

Andrews was able to pass cars throughout the 30-lap feature, charging from 18th to a 10th-place finish to maintain his points lead at Attica Raceway Park as he seeks his third track title. He was the Hard Charger in the feature, advancing the most positions.

“The motor was off all night,” he said. “So we pulled it and we’re getting a new engine in a couple of weeks. We will miss Fremont the next couple of weeks and get back after it and hopefully wrap up the Attica championship.”

There are only two more point shows at Attica Raceway Park for the 2019 season, beginning Aug. 16. Andrews is also excited about the two-day Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic Presented by Racing Optics scheduled for Aug. 30-31 at Attica Raceway Park.

“We have some big shows coming up over the next month and half with some big pay days and a possible track championship,” he said. “I know the Mackey’s will give me a great car for qualifying and that sets the tone for the whole night.”
