Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (April 6, 2021) – Garet Williamson is primed to make his 360ci sprint car debut in Louisiana this Saturday.

The Bryant Paver Motorsports driver will head to Boothill Speedway in Greenwood for a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour show. It marks the first time since 2001 that the series has competed at the dirt oval.

“You have to go into it with an open mind,” said Williamson, who recently made his racing debut in Louisiana during a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series show at a different track in the state. “I don’t know if anyone racing there this weekend will have raced there in a sprint car so it’s new for probably everyone. I try to compare it to a track I’ve seen before and then pick up things as the night goes on.”

Williamson raced near home last weekend when Lake Ozark Speedway hosted the LOS Spring Nationals featuring the ASCS Warrior Region and ASCS Sooner Region.

“It was one of the worst weekends we’ve had racing,” he said. “We had a lot of speed, but just no luck.”

Williamson placed eighth in a heat race on Friday before he rebounded by charging from ninth to second in the B Main. That earned a transfer into the back of the main event. Williamson continued to move forward as he maneuvered from his 17th starting position into the top 10 before a mid-race incident resulted in a DNF.

“I got under someone who had got tight and went up the track,” he said. “I guess he decided he was going to the infield and turned left as I was trying to go under him. My right rear tire went over his left rear and I flipped.”

Saturday saw similar circumstances end the night early. Williamson advanced from fifth to fourth place in a heat race and he won the B Main to transfer into the main event. He again powered into the top 10 before a crash closed the competition.

“We went to slide a car,” he said. “They tried to turn back under, hooked our bumper and turned us into the wall. It was just a racing deal, but it tore up a lot.

“I think we had one of the fastest cars there. As we raced other cars and with lap times we had a fast car. On Saturday we turned the quickest lap in the feature. Just unfortunate things happened both nights.”
