Every aspect of the Snowball Derby has become an event. From the unloading of the rigs to having the fastest time on practice day to taking the checkered flag on Sunday, eyes are fixed on the goings-on at Five Flags speedway during Snowball week.

The Cat County/WEAR-TV Green Flag Party has become a fan-favorite in recent years. Fans get to chat and get autographs from the Snowball Derby competitors before the on-track action gets underway the following day.

This year, fans can watch as the drivers draw for where they will go out in time trials with the Jack Link's Beef Jerky Qualifying Draw on Wednesday, December 4 during the Cat Country/WEAR-TV Green Flag Party.

"The drivers sure have fun with it," said Qualifying Draw host Bob Dillner of FOX Sports 1 and Speed51.com. "We have seen this event grow over the years and the draw has become a big fan fest and opportunity to meet and great drivers when they are not stage. The excitement of the fans and racers that starts at the Jack Link's Qualifying Draw and Green Flag Party on Wednesday will carry through to the Snowball Derby and Snowflake 100 qualifying rounds and beyond."

The party starts at 5pm with chili being served for donations that go to Miracle League Park, a local charity. Last year drivers participation was at an all-time high. Each got a chance to come up on stage and draw to set the qualifying order for both the Snowball Derby and the Snowflake 100. Tentatively, the plan will be for the draw to start shortly after 5pm CT with the Snowflake drivers going first then the draw for the Derby. Time trials for the Snowball Derby will be held on Friday, December 6 and Snowflake 100 qualifying will be on Saturday, December 7.

The fun continues until 9pm with local band After Midnight performing on stage. After Midnight will have a variety of songs from the 80's and 90's to entertain the crowd.

The Cat Country/WEAR-TV Green Flag Party and Jack Link's Qualifying Draw are free of charge for all ages.

On-track action begins Thursday, December 5 with practice for the Snowball Derby Super Late Models and the Snowflake 100 Pro Late Models as well as feature action for the Five Flags Butler U-Pull-It Bomber and Beef-O-Brady's Sportsman divisions.

Friday, December 6th is WXBM 103.7 Pole Night for the Snowball Derby cars as drivers try to lock themselves into Sunday's starting field. More practice for all Late Model cars and feature events for the track's Super Stock and Modified divisions.

It all leads up to the most prestigious asphalt short track race in the country, the 46th Annual Snowball Derby presented by JEGS on Sunday, December 8. The Snowball Derby will pay $22,500 to the winner, plus additional available bonuses.
