Vores Compact Touring Series To Make First Florida Visit Here in March
The Vores Compact Touring Series. presented by Mercer County Electric, will be making a trip to the Sunshine State for the first time in its 10 year history, during the 2020 racing season. The event is set for Friday and Saturday, March 13/14 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida as part of the Pensacola 200 ARCA race weekend, a promotion of Five Flags Speedway and Track Enterprises. The VCTS portion of the event will be presented by Pest Doctor.
Not only will this event be the first for the Midwest’s premier Compact touring series in Florida, Five Flags Speedway will have front wheel drive four cylinders on their ½-mile for the first time ever. The professional series races at tracks such as Lucas Oil Raceway, Shady Bowl, Anderson, and Eldora as well as Winchester Speedway, Salem Speedway, and Bristol Motor Speedway, three tracks that are high speed, much like Five Flags.
"VCTS is honored for the chance to race at Five Flags Speedway. The chance to be the first compact series racing at Pensacola with the track’s history and prestige is truly a bucket list type opportunity," remarked Steve Vore, the series owner.
Friday, March 13 will see hotlaps and Twin 25 lap qualifying races, while Saturday, March 14 will have any last chance events as well as the 40-lap feature, paying $1,500 to win. The event will be race #1 in the Golden Ticket Mini Series. The top three finishers will receive Bristol Golden Tickets.
Five Flags Speedway promoter Tim Bryant stated, “We believe that Compact type racecars are in our very near future at the track and having a professional series such as VCTS will be the perfect introduction. The return of ARCA, plus the first visit for this series in addition to a couple of our weekly classes will make this March weekend a great one.
Friday, March 14 action will see an afternoon test for the ARCA Menards Series East in addition to VCTS hotlap and qualifying race action. Another division will be added to complete the Friday festivities. Saturday action will see hotlaps, qualifying, and the Pensacola 200 for ARCA, while VCTS will have last chance and feature action. One more division is likely to be added for Saturday to complete the program in addition to the popular autograph session for fans.
