DOUG’S POOL & SPA’S PRESENTS THUNDER ON THE THRUWAY SERIES THIS SATURDAY AUGUST 9 AT FONDA

Fonda, NY – With only two more events before 2025 Track Championships are decided at the Track of Champions Fonda Speedway, Doug’s Pool & Spa Sales & Service presents the third F.X. Caprara Car Companies Thunder on the Thruway Series event of the 2025 season for the Amsterdam Truck Center Modifieds ($4,000 to win), the Swagger Factory Apparel Sportsman ($1,500 to win), and the Leatherstocking Credit Union Pro Stocks ($1,000 to win) along with all regular divisions this Saturday, August 9.

Two Thunder on the Thruway Series events have been completed so far in 2025 at Fonda with Stewart Friesen and Rocky Warner (Amsterdam Truck Center Modifieds), Chad Edwards and Tyler Peet (Swagger Factory Apparel Sportsman), and Beau Ballard and Kenny Gates (Leatherstocking Credit Union Pro Stocks) taking the wins in those events.

This Saturday’s events will be sponsored by Doug’s Pool & Spa Sales & Service who will also present bonuses in the Montgomery County Office for Aging Inc. Limited Sportsman division, paying $400 to the winner of the feature event! Other bonuses in the division to be paid out will be $50 to the second through fifth place finishers in the feature event, $100 to a driver chosen at random in victory lane after the feature, $50 for each heat race winner, and $100 in a Dash for Cash!

With only two racing programs left before the speedway closes for the annual Fonda Fair here’s a look at the winners in all the divisions so far in 2025.

In the Amsterdam Truck Center Modifieds Stewart Friesen leads the way with five wins followed by Ronnie Johnson and Rocky Warner (one win each for both drivers in big block and 358-Modified competition), Alex Yankowski and Cody Clark both with two feature wins, while Jack Lehner has one victory to his credit.

Tyler Peet leads the way in the Swagger Factory Apparel Sportsman division with four wins followed by Chad Edwards with three and Josh Coonradt with two. Other winners include Dylan Madsen, Stephen Gray, Chip Constantino, and Tyler Bobar who all have one win apiece.

Beau Ballard leads the way in the Leatherstocking Credit Union Pro Stock division with three victories with Kenny Gates and Luke Horning next in line with two wins apiece. Shane Playford, Nick Stone, Ivan Joslin, and Andy Graves all have one win apiece at this point in the season.

Three drivers have scored two wins apiece in the Montgomery County Office for Aging Inc. Limited Sportsman division including Randy Cosselman, Camron Hotaling, and Corky Warner while Rocco Constantino, Jim Malia, and Mason Gray all have a single win.
Jay Ingersoll has dominated the Fonda Fair Four Cylinder division so far in 2025 with ten wins followed by Ken Hollenback with seven, and Wayne Russell Jr. with three while Kerrie Hollenback, Bruce Liddle, Jason Peck, and Tim Warner all have one win each.

If you are a race fan that gets to the track early, be sure to check out the history of the Fonda Speedway at the Fonda Speedway Museum & Hall of Fame which is located on the Fonda Fairgrounds at the rear of the parking area going down towards turn four. The museum is open from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on race days and admission is free!

Fonda Speedway weekly feature winners, their race teams, and sponsors are invited the following week to display their cars at the museum and watch their feature win on Flo before the races. The victorious car display can begin as early as 3:00, and you are welcome to arrive and stay as late as your schedule allows.
