BARE POCKETS STEEL BLOCK CLASH CASH SATURDAY AT HAGERSTOWN. BRIAN BOOZE THIRD DIFFERENT CRATE LATE MODEL WINNER

Hagerstown, MD (6/22/24)- Rockbridge Baths Virginia’s Tyler Bare used some late race strategy to take his first career Late Model Sportsman feature win last Saturday at Hagerstown Speedway. The victory for Bare, steering his iconic Longhorn No.B8, was worth $3000 and made him the fifth different winner in the six events ran for the class this season.
Fast qualifier and pole sitter Derick Quade burst into the lead on the first lap of the 30-lap contest and set sail. As Quade set the pace Tyler Bare reached the runner-up spot by the fifth lap and went after Quade. With heavy lapped traffic building in the caution free event Bare was able to run down Quade and eventually take the lead on the 18th lap. Quade stayed pace with the leader for the final twelve circuits, but Bare was not to be denied and rushed on to the win. “The track came to us tonight but I knew I would have my hands full with Derick.” Bare stated post race. “I saw his car was starting to hang out around the lapped cars and I knew if I could stay with him, we had a shot.” Even though Bare was able to get by Quade in traffic, he still felt as though he had a car capable of winning. “When I switched over to four wheel brakes our car definitely got better and I think we started to gain from that point forward.” Kyle Lear held tough for third with Ryan Zook and Russel Erwin completing the top five. Scoring heat race victories over the 33 cars on hand went to Bare, Quade, Zook and Erwin with Matt Glanden scoring the B main win.
Greencastle Pa’s Brian Booze came out on top in a slugfest to score the win in the 20-lap Crate Late Model main. Booze and Codey Breeden swapped the top spot for several laps before Booze secured lead for good on the 16th lap and drove his Rocket No.B2 to his first career division feature win. “We built this car from our used parts inventory with the intent of allowing some of my employees, my sons and myself to do a little “fun”racing and it has definitely served its purpose.” Breeden, Craig Parrill, Derek Magee and Jeremy Pilkerton trailed at the finish. Heats for the 18 entries went to Booze and Jacob Whitt.
Defending track champion Jasen Geesaman blitzed the field to score his first win of the season in the 15 lap Semi Late feature. Geesaman’s 6th career Hagerstown win came over 11th starting Brady Neff, 9th starting Kody Sites, Jeremy Mills and Dillon Wilson. Heats went to Geesaman and Sites.
Evan Foust continues to have the hot hand as he drove to his 3rd win of the season in the 15 lap Pure Stock nightcap. Foust Took the lead on the first lap and out distanced the field to take the win over Andrew Saffelle, 10th starting Keith Reed, Nathan Younker and Dylan Beavers. Heats went to Reed, Foust and Younker.
