Timmerman's thoughts about his big win
Timmerman Captures Battle at the Bullring Presented by G-Style Transport Championship
HUMBOLDT, Kansas—In a race that had it all, the Norwalk, Iowa driver, Jared Timmerman, claimed the 2019 Battle at the Bullring Championship Presented by G-Style Transport in a dramatic fashion. Timmerman became the first Iowa driver to win the event and the fourth different driver in its five-year existence.
Capturing the Battle at the Bullring championship is the biggest win of his storied career.
“This is the biggest win of my career, without a doubt. The Harris Clash is second, but this is definitely the biggest.” added Timmerman.
Nearly 100 B-Mods officially checked into Humboldt Speedway last week for one of the biggest B-Mod races of the year. After two nights of qualifying, Timmerman locked himself into an A-Main starting position by finishing 9th in overall passing points.
“I knew if I stayed out of trouble the first 20 laps, I would by okay, but it didn’t work out that way. I kind of started off by racing Ryan Gillmore hard. Once I got passed him, I started picking cars off one at a time.”
Timmerman found his way to a podium spot, just passed the half way point of the feature, when leaders Dustin Daniels and Andy Bryant got together in corner one bringing out a mid-race caution.
As both Bryant and Daniels pulled pit-side, Timmerman inherited the lead.
“I didn’t even know how many laps were lap left after that. I tried counting them down, but lost track.” said Timmerman.
The final caution of the race came with three laps to go, but Timmerman “maintained focus” and drove away to the field to claim his first career Battle at the Bullring Presented by G-Style Transport championship and an $8,500 pay-day, the largest of his career.
“I have to thank my family and every behind this. Especially thank you to Ryan Whitworth and his staff on putting on this great race. We love coming down there every March and racing” added Timmerman.
The Humboldt Speedway returns to action on Friday, April 5th for the 2019 Season Opener.
