HUMBOLDT FALLS TO HEAVY RAIN, SALINA STILL SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY
HUMBOLDT, KANS. (May 9, 2019 – For the sixth time in eight races, Mother Nature has stricken the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League with yet another rain out. Due to record-setting downpours throughout the week and a near-flooded facility, officials at Humboldt Speedway made the call to cancel Friday’s WAR Sprint event at the Humboldt, Kansas track.
Saturday’s show at the Salina Highbanks in Salina, Oklahoma is still on as scheduled at the moment. Marking not only the inaugural visit in league history to the 1/2-mile, Saturday will be the first-ever POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League event held in the “Sooner State.”
From March all through April and now into May, the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprints have been drowned in heavy rain across the Midwest. Eagle (Neb.) Raceway on March 29, US-36 (Mo.) Raceway on March 30, Springfield (Mo.) Raceway on April 13, Tri-City (Ill.) Speedway on April 19, Valley (Mo.) Speedway on May 3, and now Humboldt (Kans.) Speedway on May 10, have all been washed away during this unprecedented run.
