Merchant Night at The Hummer
The night was a little warm but when the sun went down instead of cooling down it got hotter as the race night went on with people in the stands and great racing out on the track for Merchant Night.
The night was kicked off by the Home Savings Bank Factory Stocks where we had a familiar winner out front of the 7 of Dallas Joyce but then as all racing sometimes has happen something went wrong on the 7 car as he slowed out of turn four. Then the door was open for a couple of drivers but coming out on top was the 21C of Matt Collins who ran a really good race and picked up the win so now has picked up back to back weekend wins. The driver who also ran a good race but was in a different car was the driver of Mathew Kay who piloted the 66 car and took 2nd. Grant Reeves in the 10G took 3rd and Tevyn James in the 17 took 4th and the 36A of Braden Bowman rounded out your top 5 by taking 5th.
USRA Tuners where the next class to hit the track and finally getting himself back in victory lane after running a great race was the 17H of Clint Haigler. The 4T of Trenton Wilson was trying to run him down but just ran out of laps but took 2nd on the night. Taking 3rd was the 15 of Travis Bockover and Jesse Stair took 4th and finishing out the top 5 was Larry Trester in the 707 car.
The Extrusion Inc. Midwest Mods has been having a great car count every week and the racing has been just as good. We have seen just about any driver who is in the top 5 have a chance to win a race. Well on merchant night at Humboldt Speedway we had a scary moment towards the first have of the race as we had the 61 of Joey Decoster roll on the front stretch right in front of the flag stand but driver was ok. Then when we got back to action the 16 of Mathew Kay who was pulling double duty pick up the win as he started on the pole and drove it into victory lane. The 7 of Jesse Folk JR ran a good race but came in 2nd. Casey Jesseph finished 3rd and taking 4th was the 36 of Ryan Smith and taking 5th was the 01JR of Tyler Davis.
Well there was some excitement in the ARMI Contracting USRA Modifieds as getting out in front to start the race was the G3 of Brendon Gemmill but in the middle of the race a caution came out and everybody got put all back in a Delaware restart where the leader is out in front by himself the cars all got bunched up and Gemmill didn't get a good start and allowed a car to get by him and that ended up being the 65 of Hollywood Tyler Davis who drove it into victory once again at Humboldt Speedway. The second place driver was the 99T of T.J. Tolan who ran a great race and ended up 2nd after starting 8th in the A Feature. Third ended up going to the G3 of Brendon Gemmill and 4th went to the 22B of Rick Beebe and 5th went to Paden Phillips in the 127.
Then Rounding out your night was the Rays Metal Depot USRA B Mods and they helped us finish the night with a bang as Tyler Kidwell in the 54 and the 22 of Brian McGowen put on one heck of a show as they battled to the finish and was so close nobody could tell but coming out on top was the 54 of Tyler Kidwell. The 2nd place car of Brian McGowen had nothing to hang his head about cause it was ever so close as he ran a great race. Third went to your points leader of the X2 of Brian Bolin and 4th went to the 17 of Henry Chambers and rounding our your top 5 was the 18JR of Chase Sigg.
Well only two more Friday night of racing out at Humboldt Speedway and we would love to see you out at the track before we finish out the season. Up next out at Humboldt Speedway will be weekly action once again as you will see the Rays Metal Depot USRA B-Mods, Extrusion Inc. Midwest Mods, Home Savings Bank Factory Stocks, and the USRA Tuners.
