Lebanon, Oregon- It is going to be a busy week for all involved at Willamette Speedway. First, this Wednesday, July 10th the famed 1/3-mile clay oval will play host to the Western Sprint Tour and their Speedweek Northwest. It is a rare mid-week show for the facility but is expected to attract cars from Oregon, California, Washington, and Oklahoma as well as the Canadian province of British Columbia. But wait, it doesn’t stop there as the Saturday, the 13th will have the annual Shriner’s Cup with a whopping eight classes in action. Classes on the card for Saturday are the Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, IMCA Sport Mods, Sportsman, Street Stocks, IMCA Stock Cars, and Hornets.
Tickets are $14.00 for Adults, Seniors (62+)/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Kids (5 or Under) FREE with a Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) being offered for $35.00. Front Gates open at 5:00 PM with Racing scheduled to get started around 6:00 on Wednesday while Saturday the Front Gates open at 4:00 and Racing at starts at 5:00.
As is the case for the Shriner’s Cup there will be an auction held, courtesy of the Linn County Shriners, with various items up for bidding. Every single dollar of the auction will go to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children. There have been some very cool stuff over the years that have been put on the auction block.
Shriners Hospitals for Children is a network of twenty-two non-profit medical facilities across North America. Children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care and receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of the patients’ ability to pay.
In the Super Late Model division, Joey Tanner still has the most wins, at five, while Collen Winebarger, Rob Mayea, Thomas Hunziker, Steve Moore, and Justin Duty all have best the field once. In IMCA Modified competition Bricen James has been to the winner’s circle the most, a total of three trips, while Collen Winebarger has done so once. Singe race victors include Grey Ferrando, Dustin Cady, John Campos, and Kellen Chadwick. In the Super Sports, B.J. Donofrio has been the most successful driver in the class with his five wins. Doug Elkins, James Slover, and Randy Barley are the three single race victors in 2019. In the IMCA Sport Mods, Skyler Winebarger has still control of the lion’s share of the main event victories. Winebarger has struck gold three with Ethan Killingsworth triumphant twice and Jorddon Braaten scoring just a single win.
In the Sportsman ranks, Tom Yeack still has an incredible four-win season on his hands. Jeff Rash has gotten the job done twice while Kent Emry, Ryan Emry, and Brian Brown all have one victory to their credits. Justin Evans has been the dominant force in the Street Stocks with his five trips to victory lane. Additional one-time winners include Mikey Burnham, Dakota Godard, Kevin Roberts, Kelly McDonald, David Cronk, and McKenzie Lockhart. In three visits for the IMCA Stock Cars, Sean Gentry has scored twice a trophy and Dakota Godard is the most recent winner in the class. Finally, in the Hornet division, Eddie Farness has amassed an incredible eight wins over the competition. Ed Farness and Graig Osborne are the only two drivers to have beaten him and have done so one time each.
