Action Sprint Tour Returns This Saturday Night

THOROLD, ONTARIO (July 12, 2022) … The Action Sprint Tour fueled by Pinty’s will return to Merrittville Speedway this coming Saturday night as Peters Construction Group presents the racing program that will also feature the DIRTcar Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks, 4 Cylinders, V6, plus the next round in the School Bus racing program. The Hoosier Stocks will also be competing in their second home race as part of the St. Catharines Husky Duel on the Dirt.

Port Colborne, Ontario’s Jacob Dykstra won the first visit from the Action Sprint Tour on June 11. He picked up his second tour win on July 1 at Ohsweken. Mike Bowman claimed the race at Humberstone on June 30. The third and final stop for the Action Sprint Tour at Merrittville will take place on Saturday, August 27. Entering Saturday night’s round four at Merrittville, Jacob Dykstra leads Allan Downey by 24 points, with Downey leading Brett Stratford by two points, and Mathieu Bardier is just one point behind Stratford for third, and Darren Dryden is fifth in points, just 20 markers back behind Bardier.

Originally established in 2004, what started out as a vision with four employees, one excavator, two triaxle dump trucks, and one backhoe has turned into reality. Pit gates will open at 5 pm, grandstands open at 5:30 pm, with racing getting underway at 7 pm Saturday night at “Canada’s Oldest Dirt Track”.
