Fast Freddie to Debut New Motor
THOROLD, ONTARIO (August 23, 2022) … “Fast” Freddie Carleton is set to debut a brand-new Wegner 6.2 Litre motor this coming Saturday night at Merrittville Speedway. This experiment is similar to Merrittville’s experiment with the 602 Crate and the Brodix heads that are in use now by DIRTcar Northeast.
The engine is a GM block and produces similar horsepower and torque as a built 358 motor. The price of the new motor is expected to come in around the same as a current W-16 motor.
Carleton will be racing for no points on Saturday night and if he finishes in the top five, his payout will be removed and the field would move up accordingly. The “Bones Mobile” will not have sail panels or alcohol and must weigh a minimum 2400 lbs. on the scales.
Country 89 will be presenting the racing action this coming Saturday night, August 27th at the Merrittville Speedway. The Action Sprint Tour fueled by Pinty’s will headline the program that will also feature the Corr/Pak Merchandising 358 Modifieds, Hoosier Stocks, Vansickle Pet Valu/PV on the Lane 4 Cylinders, RONA/Doidge Mod Lites, and the V6s.
Saturday’s program will begin at 7:00pm, with pit gates opening at 5pm, and grandstands opening at 5:30pm.
