(Kansas City, Kansas) This Friday’s program at Lakeside Speedway for ‘Racing on the River’s Edge’ features the first-ever appearance of the Wholesale Batteries, Inc. USAC Midwest Wingless Racing Association Sprint Cars. In addition, B-Mods, Stock Cars, Pure Stocks, and E-Mods will also thrill the fans in the stands with heat races and main events throughout the night.
Midwest Wingless Racing Association spokesperson, Raul Romero stated, “I am beyond excited for our event at Lakeside Speedway and I know the drivers are eager to race at this wonderful facility! This is my hometown
track and the anticipation and excitement building up to the event has been incredible to witness. These athlete drivers are looking forward to racing in front of an enthusiastic crowd that only the oldest running sporting venue in the Kansas City area can produce, and the fans are just as eager to see sprint cars back in the metro area. This city has a long-standing history with open-wheel racing and we are thrilled to be a part of this heritage with our event on Friday.”
During the event, the USAC sprint drivers will compete for $1,500-to-win and $200-to-start the main event and the heat races will also have payouts on the line. The Midwest Wingless Racing Association and Lakeside Speedway wish to thank Rod End Supply, The Dotte Spot Bar and Grill of Wyandotte County, Country Kids Daycare, Travelers Protective Association (TPA), Pit Stop Catering, Kling Auto & Diesel Repair, Christy’s Tasty Queen, Wilkerson Crane Rental, and Sign D’Sign for their support for this event.

B-Mods: Patrick Royalty’s first few weeks of the season have been nothing short of spectacular with multiple wins and consistent finishes and by virtue of his results he sits atop the B-Mod standings. Luke Nieman is also close, coming off his first win of the year he sits just 20 points back. Sturgis Streeter, Tyson Lanfermann, and Kyle Henning all sit within the top five.
Stock Cars: Multiple-time champion Brett Heeter of Kansas City, Kansas once again finds himself riding high in the Stock Car division with a 17-point lead over veteran ace Tim Shields from the Kansas City, Missouri, side. Eddie Ingram, Jr., Chad Walker, and joe Sowers complete the top five.
Pure Stocks: Garry Billings, Jr., of Prairie Village holds a narrow 14-point lead over multiple time champion Marshall Jewett of Gardner, Kansas. The top two have ran many close races this season and are expected to in contention again on Friday. Keith Jennings, Cody Ohrenberg, and Calvin Banks round out the top five.
E-Mods: Rodney Schweizer sits atop the E-Mod standings, but the race is tight as multiple-time feature winner Trevor Hand, of Bonner Springs, Kansas has closed to within 11 points. Steven Makar is also within striking distance down just 14 points from the leader. Zach Boyd and Dakota Jennings complete the top five.
Friday Timeline:
Pit Gate Opens at 5 p.m., Spectator Gate Opens at 6 p.m., Drivers' Meeting at 7 p.m., Hot Laps begin at 7:15 p.m. with racing to follow of hot laps. Advanced tickets available at MyRacePass.com under the Lakeside Speedway Profile by clicking here or by calling call 913-299-9206. Tickets are also available at the admission gate. All pre-sale ticket sales are cut off at midnight on Thursday. Terrace Spots are available but must be reserved by calling the track in advance. Attendees are reminded that concessions are limited due to product availability and restrictions based on the COVID-19 situation.

General Admission for Adults (16+) $12, Military/Seniors (62+)/Juniors (12-15) $6, Youth 11 & Under FREE.
Terrace: Adults (16+) $15, Military/Seniors (62+) $12, Juniors (12-15) $8, Youth 11 & Under FREE.
Suites: Adults/Teens (13+) $20, Youth (2-12) $10, Kids Under 2 FREE.
Pit Passes: Adults/Youth (7+) $35, Kids 6 & Under $15, Ages 0-17 must have signed Minor Release to enter pits.
The Zombie Bus will once again run during intermission and complete five laps around the track. The cost is $5 a ticket with a limit of 50 people per run, tickets are sold at the admission ticket booth on race night Racing on the River's Edge!
Drivers are encouraged to make their way to www.lakesidespeedway.net and under the Rules/Forms tab, access, print, and fill out the track registration form and W-9 and bring with them upon signing in for the first time. While online, drivers are also encouraged to visit www.myyracepass.com and claim their driver profile. Pit passes are also on sale at www.myracepass.com (fees apply), this is the preferred method of purchase; however, pit passes are available on race nights.

Lakeside Speedway will follow CDC Recommendations and Social Distancing Guidelines, which may affect logistics and “normal” operating procedures. All attendees are responsible for their own personal protective equipment and decisions regarding attendance. We are asking that when parking in the pits, leave extra space between race cars and please to do not gather in groups and do not travel from pit stall to pit stall. Race teams are limited to 10 people per team and this will be monitored at the Pit check-in building when signing in.
All pit fans, crew members and drivers will be required to remain in the pit area for the entire event, this means no crossing over to the grandstands or terrace. We are sectioning off Section F of the grandstands for seating for all pit fans, this will be the furthest you can go towards the main building. When seated, please maintain proper social distance between yourself and other groups. Pit Stop catering will be on hand for pit area concessions.
