Inside Line Promotions – MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (July 26, 2018) – Greg Wilson guided his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Alloy Wheels backed team to its career-best result at Lincoln Speedway last Friday to highlight a busy week in Pennsylvania.

The action began a week ago Tuesday at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver during the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup. Wilson qualified 16th quickest, placed fifth in a heat race and rallied from 20th to a 15th-place finish in the A Main.

“It was a great showing in comparison to the last couple of years when we’ve struggled to make the race,” he said. “We were competitive and I felt like we learned some stuff. I was pretty happy with Lernerville because of what we learned and our improvement since we haven’t been good there recently.”

Wilson’s best outing of the week came last Thursday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown during the Gettysburg Clash. He timed in 10th quickest overall and finished third in a heat race to start the main event on the outside of the fifth row.

“I think the biggest thing was not overreacting,” he said. “The simple fact is we drew good and were decent in qualifying. That set us up and told us that we’re close. Let’s not panic and change a bunch of stuff. We had a plan and stuck to it all night long. If we can put whole nights together we can have some good runs and it will start to show.”

It did throughout the night as Wilson rallied for a sixth-place finish during the A Main. It was his best result at the track during a World of Outlaws event.

“I was ecstatic over the Lincoln deal,” he said. “It seems like everything we’ve been working forward and changing, at least some of it has been the right moves. Nobody goes to Posse Land and has an easy way to get a top 10.”

Wilson wrapped up the weekend on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway during the Summer Nationals, which was also a make up for the Morgan Cup. Unfortunately, qualifying got him behind the eight ball and the team’s night ended in the Last Chance Showdown.

“We’re learning some stuff about our motor program so that’s a positive,” he said. “We’ve really made a lot of leaps the last few weeks, but every night isn’t going to be a home run. We just keep working at it and our results are consistently getting better.”

Last Saturday’s race at Williams Grove Speedway rained out.

Wilson is slated to compete this Friday at Ransomville Speedway in Ransomville, N.Y., during the Big ‘R’ Outlaw Shootout and Sunday at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y., during the Empire State Challenge.
