26 Promotions – Yuma, AZ – (October 4, 2018) – Blake Rogers looks to continue his second-half turn around as the Lucas Oil Modified Series returns to Madera Speedway for the second time this year.

“In June we had a top three car I feel,” said Rogers. “We didn’t qualify well because the car got tight all of a sudden which put us out of the top ten. We made some big adjustments before the main to help the car for the 75-lap race. Those adjustments helped out tremendously, so I think if we can start with that setup and fine tune on it we should be good to go.”

Qualifying 16th at the June event, Rogers knows that will need to improve for him to have a shot at cracking the top five this weekend.

“The car always seems to be good during practice on old tires and still good on new tires when we do a mock qualifying lap, but for some reason mainly in qualifying the car just will not turn and it has been frustrating,” he explained. “When you qualify so far back it is too hard to make up spots in the number of laps we have. I think we have to loosen up the car a little for qualifying even if it feels good in practice just because of the consistent push the car gets during qualifying.”

After a rough three races that saw him finish outside of the top ten, Rogers has scored four consecutive top-ten finishes since the series last visited Madera in early June.

“I think we can definitely get a top five this weekend, but we have to qualify better than we have been,” he said. “We’ve had a good car in the main it just is really frustrating to know the car is fast, but you can’t prove it when you start mid-pack. Just like every race weekend you have to rotate the corner which is difficult because this track is paper clip shaped with long straightaways and tight turns. Also, drive off is very important at Madera because of those long straightaways, whoever has the most drive off I think will be your winner come Saturday night.”

This weekend’s K&N Engineering 75 presented by FAST EZ-EFI festivities kick off with practice on Friday night followed qualifying, a trophy dash and the 75-lap Lucas Oil Modified Series main event on Saturday.

Blake Rogers would like to thank Lucas Oil, FIRM Inc., MGM Design, Jacks Auto Parts, Mitchell’s Merchant Patrol, Pacesetter Home Centers, Arce Race Engines, Dune Company of Yuma, Big W Sales, and Super Clean for their continued support.
