Dover Drives to Top of Nebraska 360 Sprints Championship Standings

Inside Line Promotions – McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. (Aug. 20, 2015) – Jack Dover took the lead in the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints championship standings this week thanks to his 10th top five of the season with the series.

Dover earned a fourth-place result on Tuesday at Junction Motor Speedway to power into the series lead by 11 points with six races remaining.

The night began with Dover advancing from fifth to third place during a heat race, which moved him into the feature redraw. Unfortunately, he pulled the second-highest number – seven – during the random draw to line up on the inside of the fourth row for the main event.

“The track was almost too good,” he said. “Everybody was fast. It took a while to get to fourth. With about three laps to go we slid for third back and forth with Ryan Roberts. It wasn’t worth wrecking my car over third place so I didn’t push the issue too hard.”

The fourth-place finish marked Dover’s 19th total top five of the season and added momentum heading into this weekend when Dover will make his season debut at Park Jefferson International Speedway in Jefferson, S.D., on Saturday with the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints.

Dover was victorious at Park Jefferson International Speedway last season after starting 10th. He was also in contention to win his most recent event at the track – last August – before being involved in a late-race crash while in third place.
