Ross Bailes rallies to finish fourth at Richmond Raceway
On Friday afternoon, Ross Bailes invaded Richmond Raceway (Richmond, Ky.) to pilot the Billy Hicks-owned No. 79 Late Model for the two-day Butterball Wooldridge Memorial. With 28 Ultimate Heart of America Series entries on hand, Ross clocked in fifth fastest overall before picking up a heat race win.
Earning the pole position for Saturday’s $20,059-to-win A-Main, Bailes got turned around on the opening lap but charged from the tail of the field in the remaining distance of the 59-lapper to register a fourth-place finish. He followed Zack Dohm, Scott James, and Josh Rice across the line with Justin Rattliff coming in fifth.
