Pair of Top-5 finishes in Peach State Classic at Senoia

On Friday evening, Ashton Winger made the short trip to Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) to pilot the Longhorn Chassis No. 89 Late Model for the two-day Peach State Classic. After topping the 65-car field in time trials, Ashton posted a second-place finish in his heat race, which came behind Kyle Bronson. Starting the $10,000-to-win preliminary feature in eighth, Winger gained three spots in the 25-lapper to register a fifth-place finish. (Richard Barnes photo)

The following night, Winger timed in fastest in his group before streaking to a 10-lap heat race win. Locked into the second-starting position for the $52,052-to-win Peach State Classic, Ashton paced the field early but surrendered the lead to Mike Marlar on the fourth circuit. He went on to place third in the 75-lapper, trailing Chris Madden and Marlar to the checkers. Tyler Erb and Ryan Gustin completed the Top-5 finishers.
