Stuart, IA (June 26) – A great crowd saw some terrific three and four wide racing on a beautiful night at Stuart Speedway. Bobby Daniels, Buck Schafroth, Chase Rudolf, Corey Madden, Hunter Marriott and Mitchell Bunch were the winners on Casey’s General Stores & Karl Chevrolet of Stuart night at the races.
After heat races were completed the Outlaw Mini Mods came to the track with brothers Bobby and Luke Daniels on the front row. Luke led lap one, but it was all Bobby from there as he went on to take the feature win. Bobby finished second with Chase Daniels third and Gage Hilgenberg fourth. Bobby Daniels was also the heat race winner.
IMCA Stock Cars were up next with Jesse Lund and Keith Simmons on the front row. Simmons led the first two laps with Jeremy Gettler coming to the front on lap three. Gettler would show the way over Daniel Hilsabeck and Simmons until Buck Schafroth made it to third on lap twelve. Schafroth made quick work of Hilsabeck to get into second on lap thirteen and four laps later stormed into the lead as Gettler pushed up the track a bit. Schafroth would go on to take the checkers over Gettler, Hilsabeck, Brandon Pruitt and Todd VanEaton. Gettler and Hilsabeck were the heat race winners.
Daniel Baudler and Blair Simmons led the IMCA Northern SportMods to green with Baudler leading Simmons and Colton Nelson until a lap four caution slowed the field. David Schwartz took advantage of the yellow to swing by on the bottom side into the lead on lap five, but lurking in the shadows was Chase Rudolf and it didn’t take him long to grab the top spot just before another caution came out. Two more yellows slowed the pace, but Rudolf was up to the task and drove off from the field to take the win. Dusty Masolini finished in second with Tyler Inman third, Cam Reimers fourth and Mitchell Morris fifth. Nelson, Simmons and Inman were the heat race winners.
IMCA Hobby Stocks were next to the track with Nick Foster and Chuck Madden Jr on the front row. Madden Jr led rookie Miciah Hidlebaugh and Foster over the first two laps with Corey Madden getting to third on lap three. Two more circuits saw Madden get to second as Madden Jr continued to lead. By lap six the brothers were side by side and Corey was able to get the advantage on lap eight. Chuck worked to catch his brother, but Corey was up to the challenge and went on to take the win. Chuck Madden Jr finished second with Adam Ayers third, Hidlebaugh fourth and Jack Phillips fifth. Chuck Madden Jr and Foster were the heat race winners.
Bob Daniels and Austin Kuehl brought the IMCA Modifieds out next with Kuehl leading Scott Bash and Cory Sauerman early. Kyle Brown marched his way from the ninth starting spot to third on lap eight, but the big mover was thirteenth starting Hunter Marriott. While Kuehl led, Marriott made it to third on lap ten, second on lap eleven and stalked Kuehl for three laps until taking over the lead on lap fourteen. That would be the race as Marriott used the bottom side of the track to drive off to the win. Jesse Dennis passed Kuehl as the white flag flew to take second with Kuehl third, Brown fourth and Dave Brown fifth. Daniels, Dennis and Bash were the heat race winners.
IMCA Sport Compacts were the last feature of the night with James Reeves and Owen Richards on the front row. Reeves led Tyler Fiebelkorn and Mitchell Bunch over the first two laps with Bunch coming to second on lap three. The leaders were side by side on lap five with Bunch taking the lead and Reeves coming back to the front on lap seven. Reeves suffered a flat tire the next lap and that would do it as Bunch went on to the easy win. Fiebelkorn finished second with Colton Garside third, Logan Richards fourth and Curtis Masterson fifth. Bunch and Fiebelkorn were the heat race winners.
We’d like to thank all who came out to support the race track at our ninth event of the year. Next Tuesday will be the Ron Little Memorial sponsored by Karl Chevrolet of Stuart and Ganoe Excavating. This is the final running of this prestigious event, and you won’t want to miss it for anything. See you then!
