Micro Sprints To Frequent Sunset Speedway Park On Eight Occasions In 2014

Banks, Oregon- Fans of Sunset Speedway Park will have the pleasure to see the upcoming Sprint Car talent of the Pacific Northwest, in the form of Micro Sprints, eight times in 2014. There will be two classifications of Micros that will compete on the ¼-mile bullring clay oval located west of the metropolis of Portland.
The 600cc Open and 600cc Restricted will be the two divisions on the card each night they are scheduled to be in action. Deming Speedway rules will be implemented and wings are required. The payout for these events will be announced soon.
Smaller than a Midget and bigger than a Kage Kart, Micro Sprints have been a training ground for several Sprint Car drivers including local stars Mitch Hoffses, Kyle Mehner, and Kady Adelman while regional stars like Reece Goetz, Trey Starks, Logan Forler, and many more also cut their teeth in these machines. Champions will be crowned in each class and the title holder of each division in addition to their trophies will receive a wing courtesy of Ron Starr and RS Race Products.
There will be a special “Oregon Swing Weekend” at two tracks in two days, due to Deming Speedway being closed in late June for the Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway. The weekend will get kicked off at Cottage Grove Speedway on Friday June 27th and Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday the 28th.
Tentatively they are scheduled to appear eight times in 2014 at SSP including: May 3rd, May 17th, May 31st, June 14th, June 28th, July 26th, August 9th, and September 20th. This should be a real treat for spectators as in the past years the Micros have invaded Sunset Speedway Park and put on some really entertaining shows.
