Sunset Speedway Park Gearing For 2019 Opener On Saturday April 13th

Banks, Oregon- The year that is sure to make “Banks Great Again” is expected to get underway on Saturday, April 13th for the first race of the new season. Classes on the card will include the Outlaw Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, IMCA Hobby Stocks, and 4-Bees. All divisions are sure to dazzle and thrill on the ¼-mile bullring clay oval.
Aaron Elwess is the reigning IMCA Modified title holder while Greg Walters amassed an impressive five wins in 2018. The Street Stocks last year saw an utter domination out of Arnie Case who won fifteen out of seventeen races. Kendall Lee bested the Pure Stock ranks despite Tanner Krohling managing to win six times. In the 4-Bee division Ryan Conroy had an incredible year with his ten-win championship season. Brand new classes to SSP in ’19 will be the Outlaw Late Models and IMCA Hobby Stocks. However, the IMCA Hobby Stocks will be racing along with the Pure Stocks all season long.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, with Racing kicking off at 6:00. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each.
