Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park returned to racing after a week off on Friday, June 21st. The “Banks Bullring” witnessed a few new faces in victory lane. Five classes were on the card including the Dwarf Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, 4-Bees, and both Micro Sprint divisions.
Portland’s Ryan Martinez bested the field in the Dwarf Cars to collect his second win of the season. Tanner Krohling became the fourth different winner in as many nights in the IMCA Sport Mod ranks. Taylor Sayre, of Vancouver, Washington, won her second 4-Bee main event of 2019 making it a three-way tie for most triumphs in the class.
Justen McConville, from nearby Dundee, parked it in the victory lane for the first time in the Micro Opens. Monroe, Washington’s Keira Zylstra managed to tame the field for the first occasion this season in the Micro Restricted division.
Sunset Speedway Park returns to racing on Saturday, June 22nd. All five classes from Friday night will return along with the Wingless Sprint Series. This will be the first of two appearances by the Non-Wing 360 Sprint group to SSP.
Ticket prices with $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. Both nights the Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, with Racing kicking off at 6:00. For more information log on to www.sunsetspeedwaypark.com.
