Banks, Oregon- The track crew of Sunset Speedway Park battled the weather for several hours on Wednesday, June 26th. Officials did their very best to complete the show but by the time the A Main was ready to race it was past the established curfew for the “Banks Bullring”. The feature is postponed will be ran at the end of the night at Willamette Speedway on Friday, June 28th.

Thirty-nine cars made the journey to SSP representing the states of Oregon, Washington, California, Nevada, and North Dakota as well as the Canadian province of British Columbia. With such a late start due to the several rain delays the program was breveted to just one set of heat races and two B Mains.

Greg Walters, of Banks, and Albany’s Bricen James were the two B Main winners. Heat race victories went to John Campos from Keizer, Williston, North Dakota pilot Travis Peery, Corbett’s Collen Winebarger, Jeffrey Hudson of Keno, Yreka, California’s Jimmy Lipke, and Grey Ferrando from Stayton.

The Wild West Modified Shootout will take Thursday, June 27th, off. Even though there will be no racing there will be a Driver Appreciation Party at Willamette Speedway, in Lebanon, presented by FinishLine Graphics. A pizza feed and cornhole tournament will join the party along with music. Beverages will be made available for purchase at the track. Then the schedule gets finished off at Willamette Speedway on Friday, the 28th, and Sunday, the 29th.

Don’t forget that Passmaster Stickers are still on sale. The winner of the Passmaster award is the driver that passes the most cars in the main events during the entire week and receives every single dollar of the money from sticker sold. You can make sticker purchases either in person at any of the races or online at finshline.graphics .

As has been the case for the last few Wild West Modified Shootouts the fine folks at Speed Shift TV will be providing live lap-to-lap coverage of every single round. Be sure and stay tuned to the Wild West Modified Shootout Facebook page for the latest news and updates.
